For families who are traveling during the Winter Break, here is the updated DOE student travel policy.

Student Travel Policy per Health and Safety Guidance for SY2021 -22 (page 23-24, 12/17/21)

Student travelers must follow all applicable international, state, and county requirements at the time of the trip. See Safe Travels Hawai‘i for detailed information about those requirements. Students who travel out-of-state must also complete one of the following pathways to return to school:

1. Be fully vaccinated before the return flight to Hawaii and show proof of vaccination to the school; or
2. Test for COVID-19 (2 steps)
a. Students ages 5 and older must show proof of:
i. Safe Travels pre-travel test result and
ii. A post-travel test result (i.e. PCR or antigen test taken after returning to Hawaii)
b. Students under 5 years of age must show proof of:
i. The travel companion’s vaccination or Safe Travels pre-travel test result and
ii. Their own post-travel test result; or
3. Stay home for ten (10) days after returning to Hawaii; or
4. Within 90 days of COVID-19 infection, show proof of the COVID-19 diagnosis and return to school after the isolation period is complete, symptoms improved, and no fever for 24 hours without the use of medication. (i.e., no COVID-19 test or quarantine required if asymptomatic).

The school may request documentation of COVID-19 vaccination, test results, diagnosis, and/or travel itinerary. If health information is provided, it must be stored like a medical record. If documentation is not provided to the school, the student who traveled out of state may be required to wait 10 days after returning to Hawaii before attending class in-person.

Awesome news! Both of Grade 4's entries won!
The Pop Up Lunchbox won first place in the KeikiCo Elementary School division and The Voice-Activated Claw Machine won the People's Choice Award.

There were over 122 entries this school year and we are so proud of our innovative and creative minds of our Hokulani Grade 4 students.

Thank you Ms. Kaonohi for persevering, and investing the time and energy to help the students to complete their projects. Also, a special thank you to Mr. Bruno and Mr. Rob, for videotaping the students. It took TEAMwork to make this happen (Together Everyone Achieves More).

Please help earn money for Hokulani school when you shop at Manoa Marketplace!

Shop, dine, and enjoy services at Manoa Marketplace to earn up to $1500 for our school starting December 1 through January 31. Schools that receive 100 or more receipts designated to them will receive an additional $500 grant.

HOW TO SUBMIT A RECEIPT:
- Participants in the Kokua for Keiki program must be Hawaii residents age 18+.
- Qualifying receipts must be dated and submitted online between December 1, 2021 and January 31, 2022.
- Participants will be required to fill out the online form that includes contact, email, phone, and zip code, and designate participating school.
- Participants will be required to upload a picture or copy of receipts and upload when prompted.
- Submit the form online once required fields have been completed.

Also, if you prefer, Saturday Dec. 11 (4 pm - 6 pm) and Saturday, January 22 (11 am - 1 pm) are the ON-SITE redemption days, located near Safeway.

Hawaii Foodbank - Food Drive Nov. 15 - 19, 2021

Starting next week, Hokulani Student Council members will be collecting donations (nonperishable food) in support of Hawaii Foodbank.

You can make curbside drop-off donations in the mornings from 7:30-7:50am. Your child may also take your donation to his/her classroom and it will be picked up from there.
